Notre Dame wrecked Georgia Tech early in the 1943 season, but the Engineers rebounded to play and beat Tulsa in the 1944 Sugar Bowl. That victory followed Tech’s win over Cal in the 1939 Rose Bowl, a win over Missouri in the 1940 Orange Bowl, and a loss to Texas in the 1943 Cotton Bowl.
