Grantland Rice worked with the Cities Service gas station chain to publish advertising premium football guides from 1933 to 1954, though they may have skipped some or all of the war years.
Snavely would be the only one I could get. I just learned he didn't leave UNC for Cornell until the middle of March. This might have to do with University President Frank Porter Graham's (Moonlight's brother) stance on athletics, but I've not researched it.
I wonder for how long somebody could have 5 coaches from the Northeast but only 3 south of the Mason-Dixon line and still be called a national preview magazine.
Thank you for the historical quiz! I got 7 out of 9 right, all except Bernie Moore (was not familiar with him, although according to the Wikipedia he had some superb players [Tinsley, Kavanaugh, Tittle, etc.] and teams at LSU) and Homer Norton (I incorrectly guessed Tulane, and Bob Neyland was the Vols coach). Crowley, Snavely, Alexander, Sutherland, Waldorf, and Kerr I knew, but I guessed on Ducky Pond, primarily because he was a star player for Yale so I thought he followed up as coach. Sometimes better to be lucky than good!

Five also. Thought Alexander was Georgia, not Ga. Tech.

Only 1 Big Ten, no Big 8/12, and no West Coast coaches. It has previews for every region of the country despite a Northeastern coaching slant.
Got 6 surprisingly, missed 2, BH Moore ?, learned a few things ..
