Today's Tidbit... Buchtel's Undefeated Team of 1894

Nothing is better than going undefeated, a feat the team in the image accomplished. Playing under a Hall of Fame coach, Buchtel, now Akron University, got the best of Ohio State in 1894, winning 12-6.

It would be nice to say Buchtel went on to win many other games that season, but Ohio State was their only opponent. Luckily, it was the thirteenth win in John Heisman’s coaching career. He is the skinny-legged guy in the UPenn sweater looking to his right on the right side of the image.
