I wrote about Wesleyan University's football team almost a year ago in the context of future President Woodrow Wilson being the team's faculty advisor and coach in 1888 and 1889.
This article has led me on quite the journey since it came out. I started going full "Forgotten Fields" mode on several campuses and laid out fields on current maps (I came up with four fields for Williams College). Fortunately I happened upon this site. https://cfsdatabase.wordpress.com/ It lists the oldest "site" at Wesleyan, but the oldest "field" is at Washington & Jefferson. This is a distinction I heartily endorse.
