Today's Tidbit... Before Football Had End Zones

Pre-1912, forward passes crossing the goal line were touchbacks. The ball had to be carried over the goal line for TDs, so end lines/zones did not exist. Spectators sometimes stood just beyond the goal line and goal posts.
