Had no idea that the free kick extra point remained without a line of scrimmage into the twenties. This image looks like the defenders did not intend to rush the kicker from the goal line. Was attempting a block prohibited by this time?
I have several images from around 1920 that show the defensive team standing in the end zone and not attempting to clock the kick, but I have never figured out why that is the case. I have lots of images of teams attempting to block the kick as is seen in the 1907 image.
