In the photo from Kenyon, they had the three at the table and everyone else was left to right. So Newman is third from the left - the person next to him, then the guy sitting on the floor in front, then him.

The crazy mid-'40s nightlife of the Mount Vernon - Gambier Micropolitan Statistical Area is the stuff of legend. To think that the dust-up merited mention in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

It was in the papers nationwide. Kenyon had not won a game since 1943 and only won one game in 1946. The loss of four players did not help.
