Georgia Tech’s Jimmy Thompson typically wore #28 during the 1956 season but his tearaway jersey left him numberless at times.

Thompson appears in a full jersey in the second image. The Ramblin’ Wreck was the first football team to wear TV numbers on the shoulders of their jerseys in the 1955 season opener.
