Today's Tidbit... The NCAA Did Not Require Face Masks Until 1993

Talk about procrastination. Variously reported as an omission or oversight, the NCAA did not require football players to wear face masks until 1993, thirty-eight years after the NFL required them.

Mouth guards became an NCAA requirement in 1973, eleven years after the high schools mandated them.
