Old college yearbooks are a great source of old-school football and athletic art. I showed examples of college yearbook artwork in an article about 18 months ago, and having gathered many additional examples since then, and I thought I’d present some of my favorite examples.

The images generally come from cover pages of the athletics or football sections of the yearbook. Today’s examples are ink or pencil drawings, so they are largely black and white. Over the next week or two, I’ll show examples of artwork focused on women and spectators at football games and then will show full-color artwork with football players as the subject matter.

These are presented with only a few comments so you and I can spend more time with our families over the holidays. (-Click images to enlarge-)
