I’ve officiated at this stadium. An iconic place in East LA. Also the home of the “ East LA Classic”rivalry between two longtime high school rivals, the Garfield Bulldogs vs. the Roosevelt Roughriders…dating back to 1926, I believe. Still a major annual social event in East LA.

I came across that game in multiple sources and should have mentioned it. Glad to hear you did or still officiate. A great way to give back to the game.

The Forrest Gump filming location was a surprise to me! Terrific research, Tim!

The squared ones tend to be hard chews--carmels and nougats--and the rounds are softer cremes. However, some patties also have carmel in the chocolate enrobement instead of mint, so go easy.

I like the grove of stately trees over one end zone. Ever examine 'special' end zones? Franklin Field's Weightman Hall and Harvard's old colonnade come to mind ..

I've written about why and how schools first started decorating end zones in 1927 when the goal posts were moved to the end zones.

I don't think I've written about buildings or special items beyond the end zone.
