There was a time when coaches told football players with minor aches and pains to rub some dirt on it, but the rise of artificial turf and the disappearance of multi-purpose stadiums now leave players hard-pressed to find healing dirt.
Brings up memories of the ol' metrodome in Minneapolis. Kinda the opposite as in a football stadium adapted for baseball... no dirt even for baseball :( but did give me the memories of Jim Thome hitting off the white canopy hiding extra football seats... twice... on my birthday.... while Big Poppie hit a walk off for my twins! Good times.
Amazingly, even the LA Coliseum and the Rose Bowl hosted baseball. That must not have seemed crazy given the dimensions of the some old baseball parks.
Polo Grounds III? There were two more before it?
Yes, and one after that version. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polo_Grounds
