College yearbooks are a great source of old-school football and athletic art. I come across these beauties while searching for images of players or teams for my stories. As I find them, I set them aside for days like today.
Most of the images below are from the first page of the athletics or football sections of yearbooks. Today’s examples are ink or pencil drawings, mainly black and white. Previous posts displaying yearbook art include the following:

The 2 volumes are: Poe's Run & Other Poems (M'Cready Sykes: Cannon Press, Princeton; 1904), and A History of Harvard (Alfred K. Moe: Harvard [Press], Cambridge; 1896) are available (!!) from Goodreads and Amazon and I suppose other vendors, at amazingly low prices. My 'Moe' isn't a numbered copy, but both have contemporary inscriptions: 'Frederick J. Church '88 (a common Princeton surname then) in 'Poe', and from Moe himself in 'History' (signed to 2 Eli's in 1926).
A lot of the undergrads of yore were top-notch artists and illustrators. Booth Tarkington and Harold Imbrie drew for Princeton, and Alfred Moe for Harvard ..
