Great story. I love how it not only was a point in helping to further make the modern rules of football but also the celebrity names involved. Outland and the Bell family. The Bell's in 3 generations have greatly impacted football. John C. as decribed, Bert his son was a player, owner organizer of the Philly Eagles (after buying the Frankford Yellow Jackets) then later becoming NFL Commish, and his son my friend Upton Bell who was player personnel director of the 1960s era Colts, helped bring the name "New England" to the Patriots, and later owned a WFL franchise. The Bells have spanned football's existence thus far in 3 generations.

The Bell family story is pretty crazy, spanning very early football to today. I don't think there is another line like it.
