Here's a vote for the introduction of the end zone as being as significant as the legalization of the forward pass.

What is your rationale for that? Allowing the ball to cross the goal line without resulting in a touchback was big.

Well done, I did not realize that Warner did not himself call the formations Single and Double Wing

Before there was an end zone, there was no threat of a pass beyond the goal line. Once the EZ was created, the defense had to account for the possibility of a pass and couldn't just stack up 11 men on the goal line. So...many fewer low-scoring (i.e. boring) games.
